New Apps Show Videos Are A Hot Commodity, And Just Getting Hotter

mixbit

Not to be out done by Vine or Instagram, YouTube’s co-founders have created MixBit, a new video editing app that literally does it all (shoot-edit-publish) for videos. And the co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen have even done one better, since the app allows for videos to be edited together as a string of clips–up to 256 actually. Nice.

You can get the app on iPhone, and as a web app, with a version for Android slated for next week.

Gaga Gets Naked For “Art”

Anybody else tired of this whole celebrities show up and suddenly they’re “art” thing? I actually find Marina Abramović really interesting, but this thing with Gaga….I don’t know, and that crap with Jay Z, it was seriously awkward to watch. Mainly, I’m referencing this hot mess, and this, and (yawn) of course this had to happen, cause he’s Jay Z, in an art gallery. So crazy, right? It’s all so very lame. Somebody pointed out (I can’t remember who) that basically Jay ain’t doing anything Andy Warhol didn’t do back in the day with his collaboration with many, many a celebrity. Hmmmm. Let me think about that….ya, NO. NO. NO. NO.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of Jay Z (and we’re talking from back in the day stuff), but truly the closest this guy will come to “creating art” is if he paints “ego” on a canvas and frames it for all to see. Otherwise, sorry Hova, it’s I’m just not feelin’ it.

The Bromance Between Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis Is Over

I should use the term lightly, “bromance,” because these two roided up OG’s probably had a case of haterade for each other for a while now. Whatever you think their “friend” status is (was), count it officially cancelled after Stallone took to twitter and beefed out some knowledge regarding the human q-ball that is Willis:

Now I’m no Nostradamus, but I’ll go on the record right now, and say that if a physical altercation went down between these two, the smart money is on the Italian Stallion. Willis’ only hope is an “over the top,” arm wrestling showdown–and Stallone could STILL probably break his limb as casually as breaking a bread stick. Besides, Willis certainly has had his share of issues lately. Mainly, the dude can’t seem to participate in an interview at all.

Netflix To Offer Individual Profiles

The move will help users differentiate themselves on one account, and allow Netflix the ability to track users data with far more accuracy. Users can even create profiles based on different moods–which should prevent Netflix from recommending Judge Dredd when you’re having a eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, stay in pajamas kind of day.

Julian Assange Could Be Coming To A Theater Near You

Julian_Assange_(1)

If Hollywood’s current plans are any indication, we could be seeing the “Edward Snowden Story” in widescreen any day now….

The screenwriter for “Zero Dark Thirty,” Mark Boal is currently working on a WikiLeak project after optioning the NYT article about Julian Assange. Add to that, Alex Gibney (who created the Documentary “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks”) just got the rights for the book “Private: Bradley Manning, WikiLeaks, and the Biggest Exposure of Official Secrets in American History,” written by Denver Nicks, and has his own plans for a Hollywood treatment.
